If you need to move forward and be a better version of you, you need to look back on your memory lane and collect all the lessons you’ve learnt in the past year to take with you to the next year.

Make a self-reflection on the lessons you've learnt, and the things you achieved and make a decision “from where I should start in the new year?”.

Take a piece of paper and write down the goals you have for the upcoming year.

Yes I know, we all know that we write or think of new year resolutions every year and leave it behind after a month or two.

Why not start new this year? with a twist!

Let's ignore those big, long term goals that we always plan for, and focus on the small changes that we can make to our daily routine or habits.

These tiny actions we practice daily can have a bigger contribution to having a successful year.

For example,

  • I have identified that I don't drink enough water. So, one small thing I plan on doing in the upcoming new year is to keep a water bottle with me wherever I go.
  • I am planning to keep my desk organized with the things that I need to work on the next day. Because then I will start my day with the most important work that I have to do and move on with the less important stuff later.

It is believed by many that you can make or break a habit by practising it continuously for 21 days. This 21 days of practice was first introduced by a plastic surgeon Maxwell Maltz. He claims that “it requires a minimum of about 21 days for an old mental image to dissolve and a new one to jell”.

So let's start with small routine changes, practice it continuously to make it a habit that transforms you to be a better version. Coz little is much better than nothing 😊

Wish you all a Happy New Year🎇
