Installing QGIS in just 2 steps
Hi all!
As I discussed in my previous post, QGIS is an open-source geographical information system which is easily accessible by the novice users.
If you want to know more about QGIS and why it is used, refer to my previous blog post here.
Hoping everyone now has an idea what QGIS is, let's get started with it by first installing the application.
Step 01: Download QGIS
Open your web browser and search for “QGIS” or go to the following link: https://qgis.org/en/site/
On the home page, you will see a “download now” button.
Then, you will be directed to another page where you can select the appropriate QGIS version according to your operating system and the processor.
Now, your QGIS .exe file will be downloaded.
Step 02: Installation
Double click on the downloaded application to start the installation process.
Now, click on the “Next” button to continue the installation.
Next, read the license agreement and click on “I Agree” button
Then, the default path on which the application will be installed is shown. You can either change it into a different path or keep the default and click on the “Next” button.
This will be followed by the selection of sample data sets. You can select sample datasets and click the “Install” button.
Now, the application will be installed.
Congratulations! Your application has now installed successfully.
Now you can get started with QGIS!
